Kids are hilarious!

Today I babysat 2 little girls ages 6 and 7 and 3/4 (her words not mine). They seriously kept me laughing all day. Here are a few highlights.

6 year old: If you're older than my sister than why aren't you married?
Me: I haven't found anyone I want to marry yet.
6 year old: you should marry Justin Bieber.

7 year old (while playing Disney trivia): What would happen if a witch gave me a poison apple?
Me: You would fall into a deep sleep until your prince came and kissed you to wake you up.
6 year old: Ewwww.

6 year old (while in line behind a very short man, we're talking 5'3"ish): why is that man so small?
Me: He was born that way I guess.
6 year old: Is he a grown up?
Me: yes
6 year old: maybe he'll grow big when he's 100.
Me: yeah probably.

so, so funny.

A river Runs through....the ranch

For the last month or so the river bed on our property has been flowing! I absolutely love it when it flows. I have many, many memories of playing in the river as a child, from trying to build a dam with my cousin Micheal to catching bucket full of frogs and tadpoles. :) Now I still can't get enough of the beauty and peace that comes from being both on the ranch and so near the water. Lately I've been spending a couple hours each afternoon sitting in a lawn chair, with my feet in the water, studying my flash cards....bliss. I love, love, love it! So peaceful
This place is heaven.

Attitude of Gratitude

Yesterday Morning I was feeling a bit sorry for myself...just one of those mornings where I was thinking about what I lack you know just a bit down in the dumps. After some prayer I picked up the conference Ensign and opened to President Monson's talk from this past general conference entitled "The Divine gift of Gratitude". In his talk president Monson quoted "the Greek philosopher Epictetus, "He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has"" later in his talk he says, "A grateful heart, then, comes through expressing gratitude to our Heavenly Father for His blessings and to those around us for all that they bring into our lives". I was thinking of how important gratitude must be for President Monson to make it the topic of his talk so I started thinking of all the things I have to be thankful for. I'm ME!!! I'm a strong, healthy, faithful disciple of Christ!
